What to do after an accident or loss
Make sure everyone is safe
Call 911 if anyone is hurt. Move to a safe place and, for car accidents, exchange information with the other driver.
Document what happened
Take photos of the damage and the scene, and write down names, phone numbers, plate numbers and a police report number if there is one.
Report your claim
Call your carrier's claim line, listed on your ID card, or use their app. Have your policy number ready. Call us if you'd like help.
We'll help you file
Your carrier's name, claim phone number and your policy number are on your ID card or declarations page. If you can't find them, or you'd rather not deal with the carrier alone, call us.
